LA RUTA DE LOS CASTILLOS

Yesterday, Saturday May 19th, we had our first excursion, "Route of the Castles.”  We went to the Cloister of Santa Maria la Real de Nieva, the wine cellar "Blanco Nieva" and the Castle of Coca (interior). We also, ate at Turégano (Castilian Menu) and  a final visit to Pedraza where we had free time. 

First we stopped at the cloister of Santa Maria. It had stone columns with capitals that tell stories. The columns were for people who could not read.

The wine cellar was very interesting. The process takes much time and the man in the cellar showed us how to make wine properly.

In the Castle of Coca we saw many ancient artifacts. We climbed many stairs to reach the top of the castle.

In the afternoon we ate at Turégano. We started with either pasta or gazpacho and  then some ate salad while others ate lamb. For dessert we had the choice between ice cream, rice pudding and flan.

When we reached the town of Pedraza it was raining but we still walked around the city and went shopping.

The tour was fun and we learned a lot!

Ayer, sábado, el19 de mayo, hicimos nuestra primera excursión, “La Ruta de los Castillos.” Fuimos al Claustro de Santa María la Real de Nieva, una bodega de vino “Blanco Nieva” y el Castillo de Coca (interior). También, comimos en Turégano (Menú Castellano) y visitamos a Pedraza donde tuvimos tiempo libre.
            Primero paramos en el Claustro de Santa María. Tenía columnas de piedra con capitales que cuentan historias. Las columnas eran para las personas quien no podían leer.

La Bodega de vino fue muy interesante. El proceso toma mucho tiempo. El hombre de la bodega nos enseñó cómo tomar vino correctamente.

En el Castillo de Coca vimos muchos artefactos antiguos. Subimos muchas escaleras pequeñas hasta llegar arriba del castillo.

Comimos en Turégano. Empezamos con pasta y después algunas personas comieron ensalada mientras otras personas comieron cordero. Para el postre tuvimos la opción entre helado y flan.

Cuando llegamos a la ciudad de Pedraza estaba lloviendo, pero todavía caminamos toda la ciudad y fuimos de compras.
